Wow, it has finally happened…your whole Scooby Gang has dates, to the same shindig! Actually, it's the Spring Formal, but Captain Stuffypants the Watcher is actually coming as the +1 of one of the chaperones, so you're all going to be there!

It's actually kind of amazing that you all have Significant Others at the moment, but it's really cool, too. It's so nice to have everybody feeling the same happy vibe, all on the same page — you're pretty sure everyone has met everyone else's SOs at this point, and they all seem to be decently cool folks. You know a couple of the Gang's +1s have met, when some of you have gone to the same movie or met up for coffee, stuff like that, and nobody's butted heads yet!

Sure, there's the whole "fighting the forces of darkness and defeating the Hellmouth" thing, that can always throw a wrench in the works, but you'll just have to worry about that when the time comes.

You're really looking forward to this and hoping everything goes smoothly!
—Hey, a Scooby can dream, can't they?

Our Date From Hell is a Ninjacat Buffy the Vampire Slayer mystery event, where not all will be as it seems…or as one might expect it to be, either! Your Scooby Gang is just trying to live their lives, maybe have a little fun and romance while saving the world from the forces of darkness– —surely just one night going smoothly isn't too much to ask, right?!?

This event will run for five hours, the first hour (or hopefully a bit less) will be spent creating characters at the table, using Ninjacat's Build A Scooby System. Players choose an Archetype, such as Jock, Nerd, or Clown, which will then have a Template applied to it, such as Slayer, Werewolf, or Robot. This way, everyone gets a cool and unique character of their choice, without turning the table into a party of Slayers and Vampires With Souls.

The ten Archetypes are: Clown, Delinquent Joyrider, Geek, Goth, Jock, Medic, Musician, the Popular One, Tough Guy/Gal, and Watcher. The possible Templates to be applied are: Demon Hunter, Former Initiative Commando, Magician, Martial Artist, Occult Investigator, Psychic, Robot, Slayer, Superscientist, Totem Warrior, Vampire?, and Werewolf. Players will submit their top choices to the GM, who will then assign both halves of their character to each Player. Once the Players have their Archetypes and Templates, it only takes a little bit of math to figure out the final numbers and copy everything over to the master Character Sheet. It's not hard, and Ninjacat and his faithful assistant will be on hand to help.

Just bring your best Buffyspeak attitude and some cinematically melodramatic imagination, and a grand Slaying time will be had by all!
